Housed within the historic Alumni Memorial Building, the James R. Cox Auditorium is a grand stage for large-scale performances. WJ Julian Band Room
Serving as the “home base” of UT Bands, the WJ Julian Band Room in the Natalie L. Haslam Music Center is much more than a rehearsal space; it is a dedicated classroom, a central meeting ground, and a true second home for our students. This purpose-built facility features high ceilings and specialized acoustic treatments specifically calibrated to handle the power of high-decibel brass and woodwind rehearsals.
Band Practice Field
The Band Practice Field serves as the vital birthplace of every halftime show, providing a dedicated outdoor space where the visual artistry of the “Pride of the Southland” is meticulously mapped out. To ensure absolute precision, the field is permanently marked to match the exact dimensions of a football field, allowing students to master complex drill executions and formations.
