Pride of the Southland Band Handbook
The Pride of the Southland Marching Band is one of the nation’s most recognized collegiate marching bands, representing the University of Tennessee at football games, university events, championship appearances, and performances across the country. This handbook serves as your guide to band camp, policies, expectations, performance schedules, and resources for a successful season.
Welcome to the Pride
Band camp is where the foundation for the entire season is built. During these two weeks, members learn music, marching fundamentals, pregame traditions, and the first halftime production while developing the relationships that make the Pride a family.
Students should review schedules carefully, arrive prepared for long rehearsal days, and monitor communications from band leadership regarding registration, housing, uniforms, and rehearsal updates.
Preparing for Band Camp
August 3 – August 14, 2026

Performance Schedule
The Pride performs throughout the football season at home games, select away games, special university events, postseason appearances, and spring performances. Members should review the performance calendar regularly, as dates and travel schedules may change throughout the year.
