Bands Business Manager

Biography

Ashley Waller is the Business Manager for the UT Band Program, overseeing logistics and operations for the Pride of the Southland Marching Band, Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Concert Band, and University Band as well as Volleyball, Basketball, and Football pep bands.

Before joining the staff of the Natalie L. Haslam College of Music, Ashley taught middle school and high school band in Knoxville for 19 years. During her time at Halls High School, both the marching band and the symphonic band earned superior performance ratings at contests and festivals, in addition to opportunities to perform at Disney World, Universal Studios, and the Saint Patrick’s Day Parade in Chicago.

Ashley earned her Bachelor of Music and Master of Music degrees in Music Education from UTK. As a student, she marched with the Pride of the Southland Marching Band in four bowl game appearances and the inauguration of George W. Bush’s first term in 2001. She also played in the Symphonic Band, the Lady Vols Basketball Pep Band, and the Trumpet Ensemble. Each of these groups afforded her the opportunity to travel and represent the UT Band Program across the country. Her professional affiliations include serving on the executive board of the East Tennessee School Band and Orchestra Association and membership in the Tennessee Music Education Association.

In her free time, Ashley enjoys hiking and camping in the Smokies, playing trumpet with the Tennessee Wind Symphony, going to concerts and music festivals, and spending time with her family, friends, and dog, Dudley.
