Biography

Liz Reams is the Coordinator of Operations for the University of Tennessee, Knoxville’s Natalie L. Haslam College of Music, where she oversees the day-to-day operational infrastructure that supports the College’s academic programs, performances, auditions, and special events. She serves as the central point of coordination for facilities and space usage, parking, scheduling, front-of-house operations, access control, and cross-departmental logistics, ensuring that instructional and performance activities run smoothly and efficiently.

After a decade of teaching middle and high school band, Reams brings a deep understanding of music education to her work in higher education administration. Her background as an instrumental music educator informs her collaborative, detail-oriented approach and allows her to communicate effectively with performers, faculty, staff, and students alike. She brings an understanding of rehearsal processes, performance demands, and academic workflows into her operational work across instructional and performance settings.

Reams holds a Bachelor of Arts in Instrumental Music Education (K–12) from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and is a Certified Administrative Professional (CAP). She also brings experience in training and development, instructional design, professional writing, and the use of scheduling and data-tracking systems, strengthening her ability to support complex academic and operational environments.

Outside of work, Reams stays connected to teaching through private flute lessons and enjoys strength training and power athletics, cooking, and spending time with her cat, Bean.
