Evie Andrus

Biography
Evie Andrus has been performing on the fiddle since she was 6 years old. Her family bluegrass band, Family Ties, toured around ND and Canada throughout her high school years. While an undergraduate at East Tennessee State University, Andrus minored in Bluegrass, Old Time and Country Music. She is a past cast member at the Hatfield and McCoy Dinner Feud as well as performing with other acts such as Foreigner, Il Divo and appearing on HBO’s “The Outsiders”. Andrus is a co-founder and President of the East TN Bluegrass Association. She released an album of original tunes in May 2022, Evie’s Great Adventure.
Andrus’ research interests focus on Appalachian music, Cherokee fiddling and bringing eclectic styles into higher education. She serves on the American String Teacher Association eclectic styles committee and is a mentor through ASTA. Additionally Andrus has served as a consultant and led master classes regarding bluegrass and folk styles. Andrus has been a presenter at ASTA National Conference, String Band Summitt and a regular guest lecturer.
