Advanced Study Meets Artistic Excellence

Graduate Programs

Pursue advanced study in a dynamic, collaborative environment led by distinguished faculty, with opportunities to grow as a scholar, performer, teacher, and creative professional.

The requirements, policies, and procedures governing admission to the graduate programs in the Natalie L. Haslam College of Music are presented in the COM Graduate Guide and in the current University of Tennessee Graduate Catalog. Applicants for admission to Master’s degree programs in music must have completed an undergraduate degree in music, roughly equivalent to those conferred by the University of Tennessee. Admission to the Artist Certificate program is based on a successful audition. Evidence of prior academic study in music is preferred but not required.

Areas and Studios

At the heart of our music programs are the dedicated faculty artists and teachers who lead our studios and areas. These serve as a central part of the student experience – providing one-on-one instruction, mentorship, and performance opportunities across all instrumental and vocal areas.
