At UT Knoxville; Program of Study: BA, Music Business Administration
Transfer student advising notes:
Intermediate level foreign language is required. Students may take a language placement exam after enrolling. Click here for more information.
Students may wish to take Bridge Courses during summers while at PSCC or at UT. Since these are Volunteer Core (general education) courses, they are offered frequently.
For students without a strong background in music theory fundamentals (key signatures, chord analysis, meter/rhythm, intervals, etc.), we advise taking Music Theory 100 (MUTH 100) through UTK as soon as possible. It can be taken during the first semester, but students will not be eligible to take MUTH 115 until proficiency is established, either by passing MUTH 100 or an 80% passing grade on the music theory placement test.
Transfer orientation will occur during the summer before entry. You must take the music theory placement test during orientation.
Performance electives: remember that all students must complete 5 semesters of performance electives, which are satisfied either through lessons, ensembles, or guitar class.
