Music, BM Concentration
Music Performance
Bring music to life through bold performance and artistic mastery.
Program Overview
Students pursuing the Bachelor of Music (BM) degree with a concentration in instrumental or vocal performance are prepared for careers as professional performers, chamber musicians, orchestral or wind ensemble players, or soloists. This path offers intensive, hands-on training in your primary instrument or voice, equipping you to perform with confidence, expression, and technical excellence.
At the University of Tennessee, performance students receive one-on-one studio instruction, participate in dynamic ensemble experiences, and study under expert faculty who mentor them both artistically and professionally.

While each instrument area is listed as a separate concentration in the undergraduate academic catalog, we have grouped them here on this page under the broader Music Performance umbrella to make it easier for prospective students to explore their options.
