Welcome to the first annual University of Tennessee Violin Symposium and Suzuki Workshop. We are so excited for this weekend-long event featuring some of the country’s finest performers and teachers.
This year, the festival organizers are excited to present our lineup of distinguished guest artists: Paul Kantor (Rice University), Jinjoo Cho (McGill University), Carolyn Huebl (Vanderbilt University), Joshua Holritz (University of Tennessee-Chattanooga), Ching-Yi Lin (Western Kentucky University), and James Hutchins (Suzuki Teacher Trainer)
The Festival will open on Friday, January 18th, at 8 PM with Jinjoo Cho, winner of the 2014 Indianapolis International Violin Competition, joining forces with piano virtuoso, Esther Park, for what promises to be a riveting performance.
On Saturday the 19th and Sunday the 20th, our renowned guest artists will teach a wide array of workshops and classes, from a panel discussion on peak performance, to movement classes, as well a number of masterclasses. A grand gala closing concert will include performances by faculty as well as both our Suzuki and Symposium participants.
This event promises to be a weekend full of learning and artistry for participants of all ages and levels. We hope you will join us and share in the wonderful talents of our guests and participants.
Hope to see you there!
