The School of Music is one of twenty-one departments and schools, eight centers and institutes, and thirteen interdisciplinary programs housed in the College of Arts and Sciences. Accordingly, students pursuing degrees in music are governed by policies and procedures that affect the entire College.
The University of Tennessee Undergraduate Catalog contains the most recent version of the degree requirements for the Bachelor of Music degree, the Bachelor of Arts degrees in Music, and the various Music Minors. Students should check with their advisor for questions or explanations of policies.
Students are advised to keep The Undergraduate Handbook at hand throughout matriculation and to consult it for School policies and procedures.
Students are reminded that they, not the advisor, bear the ultimate responsibility for selecting courses, meeting course prerequisites, and adhering to university policies and procedures.
