Legendary Violinist Itzhak Perlman to Perform Special Concert at the Tennessee Theatre

The University of Tennessee School of Music and the Stanford Eisenberg Knoxville Jewish Day School are excited to announce a performance by world-renowned violinist Itzhak Perlman on Tuesday, March 31, 2020 at 7:30 p.m. in the historic Tennessee Theatre. Doors will open at 7:00 p.m.

Perlman will be performing a special concert, alongside pianist Rohan De Silva, as a continuation of the highly-acclaimed community event Violins of Hope, which was held in Knoxville in January 2019. Violins of Hope holds great meaning for Perlman; at the age of 8, he was given his first violin by Moshe Weinstein, the father of the founder of Violins of Hope.

Violins of Hope events continue to travel around the world teaching tolerance and resilience in the face of terror. This performance by the legendary Itzhak Perlman will be the capstone of the Knoxville Violins of Hope experience.

Tickets can be purchased at the Tennessee Theatre website, the box office, or by calling 800-745-3000. All net proceeds from this concert will support student scholarships at the University of Tennessee School of Music and the Stanford Eisenberg Knoxville Jewish Day School.
