Horn Studies

What Have We Done in Past Years?

Five UT horn students awarded performance-based scholarships to Kendall Betts Horn Camp in New Hampshire in June 2019.

Student majors accepted into graduate programs with full assistantships or fellowships at The University of Illinois (MM), Louisiana State University (MM), West Virginia University (MM), The University of Maryland (MM), the University of Missouri-Kansas City (DMA).

Students accepted to the Interharmony International Music Festival in Piedmont, Italy (2018) and Pacific Regional International Summer Music Academy (PRISMA) in Powell River, British Columbia (2017).

Upon invitation, the UT Horn Choir performed a recital at the International Horn Symposium held at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana (2018), where they performed the world premiere of To See the Starlings for horn octet by Andrew Sigler.

Upon invitation, the UT Horn Choir performed a recital at the Southeast Horn Workshop held at the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia (2018).

Upon invitation, the UT Horn Choir performed a recital at the Northeast Horn Workshop held at Indiana University in Pennsylvania (2016).

Upon invitation, the UT Horn Choir performed a recital at the International Horn Symposium held at the Colburn School in Los Angeles, California (2015).

Lauren Harris (BM ’14) took first place at the Southeast Horn Workshop Solo Competition in the University Division (2014).
