Artist Certificate in Music - Concentration in String Performance

The String Performance certificate requires 8 hours of applied study, 4 hours of orchestra, 2 hours of chamber music ensemble, 3 hours of area literature, 5 hours of music electives and a graduate recital (2 hours).

Orchestra participation is required during each semester of residence.  Classes chosen to fulfill the music electives requirements should be lecture courses to be determined with the program adviser.

Artist Certificate in Music - Concentration in Keyboard Performance

The Keyboard Performance certificate requires 8 hours of applied study, 4 hours of music ensemble, 6 hours of area literature, 4 hours of music electives and a graduate recital (2 hours).

Ensemble participation is required during each semester of residence.  Classes chosen to fulfill the music electives requirements should be lecture courses to be determined with the program adviser.

Artist Certificate in Music - Concentration in Voice

The Graduate Artist Certificate in Voice allows singers to polish their technical and artistic ability on a flexible schedule of either 1 or 2 years. Coursework will focus primarily on performance mastery and personal goals. Completion of this program will provide students with the necessary tools to succeed in major vocal competitions and auditions, and ultimately, a professional performing career. Students of this program will be eligible to audition for the Knoxville Opera Studio, which provides further professional experience in secondary, supporting, and cover roles, as well as outreach, chorus, and masterclass opportunities.
