Scholarships for Students Seeking a Music Degree
The University of Tennessee has over 150 endowed undergraduate and graduate scholarships.
All scholarships are given to incoming students based on talent, with academic performance and the needs of the college also being considered.
Many scholarships are restricted to certain instruments, while some are considered open scholarships that can be given to any incoming student majoring in music. Our Band, Choral, and Orchestra areas also have area-specific scholarships. Any auditioning student is automatically considered for applicable scholarships.
Scholarships are given to undergraduates for four years and to graduate students for two years. All awards are renewable assuming the student remains full-time in a music degree, maintains a 2.75 GPA, completes a minimum of 12 credit hours each semester, and makes acceptable progress in applied lessons and ensembles each semester.
All music scholarships are stackable with need-based, state, institutional and competitive academic scholarships.
