Welcome to Keyboard Studies at the University of Tennessee.
It is the mission of the University of Tennessee Keyboard Area to take a prominent role in the training of the next generation of artist-performers. Offering a variety of undergraduate and graduate degrees in Piano and Organ, our programs encompass the study of solo literature, the collaborative arts, and pedagogy. All programs offered by the Keyboard Area provide the diversity of training necessary to become consummate musicians in the 21st century.
As an All-Steinway school, students have access to the finest instruments available for practice, study and performance, including a wide selection of both New York and Hamburg pianos.

Artist Certificate in Music – Concentration in Keyboard Performance or Collaborative Piano
The graduate Artist Certificate program is a full-time graduate performance program designed to prepare the most talented and outstanding performers for careers as professional performing musicians.
Students accepted into the program must demonstrate the ability to perform advanced repertoire with technical and artistic mastery and have the potential for success at major competitions or auditions for major performing entities, or want to begin a professional career. Students in this program will take courses that build the repertoire, artistry, and performance skills necessary for a professional performer.
