About the RFTW Series
The University of Tennessee’s Ready for the World Music Series brings renowned artists to perform and discuss musical styles and literature from diverse regions around the world. In the last several years, we hosted eighteen programs from underrepresented regions, offering an immersive experience of music, art, and culture. In addition to the valuable educational experience these programs have offered our students, the series has enabled us to establish relationships with diverse groups and organizations at the University of Tennessee, as well as the larger East Tennessee community. Our outreach has steadily increased, and we are working with the UT Libraries as well as local cultural heritage organizations in presenting quality exhibits to complement the music program.
