Undergraduate Cost & Aid
At the University of Tennessee, earning a degree is both accessible and valuable. Nearly half of all UT students graduate debt-free, and those who do borrow typically carry less debt than the national average. It’s proof that a high-quality education doesn’t have to come with a high price tag.
Tuition rates vary based on your residency status (in-state or out-of-state), and UT’s price estimator makes it easy to calculate your individual costs. Be sure to also plan for additional expenses like student fees, housing, dining, textbooks, and personal items.
Financial Aid
Eighty-five percent of 2023 undergraduates received financial aid and scholarships from federal, UT, and private sources.
To be eligible for the most financial aid and scholarships, you should file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) each year.
Check out the below financial aid opportunities available to UT Music students. If you have questions about work study, grants, or student loan options, contact OneStop.
Work Study
Earn work study funds to help cover educational expenses by working part-time! Work study students earn an average of $3,000 per year.
Grants
Grants are reserved for students with the highest financial need and do not need to be repaid. Filing your FAFSA each year determines your Student Aid Index (SAI) and grant eligibility.
Students Loans
Student loans help cover educational expenses. All loans must be repaid, however some programs may offer low-interest rates and tax-deductible interest payments.
