Program Overview
The Music, BM program is a rigorous, immersive degree for students who are serious about pursuing music at a professional level. From the start, you’ll receive personalized instruction through one-on-one studio lessons with faculty who are not only educators but active performers and composers. You’ll perform regularly in large and small ensembles, gaining real-world experience and building your confidence on stage. Alongside your performance work, you’ll dive deep into music theory, musicology, and aural skills to develop a strong academic foundation. Your chosen concentration will shape your journey through specialized courses tailored to your interests and goals – all culminating in a senior recital or capstone experience that showcases your growth as an artist.

The instrumental or vocal performance concentration within the Bachelor of Music degree are prepares you to become professional performers, chamber musicians, orchestral or wind ensemble players, or soloists.

Music Education
The Music Education concentration within the Bachelor of Music degree prepares you to become a dynamic, confident, and compassionate K–12 music educator.

Studio Music
and Jazz
The Studio Music & Jazz concentration within the Bachelor of Music (BM) degree prepares students for careers as professional jazz artists, composers, and educators.

Theory and Composition
The Music Theory & Composition concentration within the Bachelor of Music degree is built for students who want to explore how music works and how to make it their own.
