Biography
With over two decades of experience in musical theater, Lexie Bennett brings a distinctive blend of creativity, leadership, and people-centered strategy to her role in Human Resources at the Natalie L. Haslam College of Music. Her background as both an HR professional and a performing artist has shaped a collaborative, communicative approach grounded in teamwork and shared responsibility.
Lexie holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Washington State University, which informs her thoughtful, people-first approach to human resources. Her academic training and professional experience provide a strong foundation in human behavior, motivation, and interpersonal dynamics, allowing her to support employees through both challenges and opportunities for growth. She is particularly committed to fostering healthy, supportive workplace environments that promote trust, engagement, and well-being.
In her work, Lexie focuses on staff development, employee advocacy, and the implementation of fair, transparent practices that help employees feel supported and empowered. She strives to create workplaces where individuals feel respected, equipped to grow, and able to contribute meaningfully to the College’s mission. Her goal is to align organizational needs with effective people practices that strengthen both employees and the institution.
Lexie maintains an open-door approach and welcomes staff and students to stop by her office for conversation, guidance, or a listening ear. She values open dialogue and believes connection and communication are essential to a healthy campus community.
Outside of her professional role, Lexie enjoys singing musical tunes, hiking with her dogs, spending time at the beach, and traveling with her family to explore new places and experiences.
