The annual School of Music Celebration of Excellence Competition is open to all undergraduate instrumentalists, vocalists, and small ensembles (up to six members). Repertoire may consist of any composition not to exceed seven minutes in duration including one selection or two short selections.
Past winners of this competition are ineligible to compete again. However, if a student won a previous COE competition as a soloist, he/she MAY compete again as a member of a chamber ensemble and vice-versa.
- Cash prizes in the amount of $100.00 will be awarded to the top winners in this year's competition.
- Performance: The winners of the competition will perform on the final Honors Convocation Group Solo Class on Tuesday, April 17 at 12:40 p.m. in Cox Auditorium.
Complete an application form and turn it into the School of Music office NO LATER than 5:00 p.m., March 8.
In addition to the complete title/composer of the composition to be performed, please make certain that the performance medium (solo trombone, string quartet, etc.) is correct.
Each application must have a faculty sponsor who agrees to coach and mentor the applicant's participation.
